As founder of Total Foot and Ankle of Tampa Bay, Dr. Valins leads a talented, professional staff of doctors and medical assistants. Dr. Valins believes that each patient deserves friendly, well-trained staff members who carefully listen to you and care about you and your health. Dr. Valins completed his undergraduate degree at the State University of New York in Binghamton graduating with a bachelor's degree in French Language and Literature. He then went on to pursue graduate studies in French and Italian Language and Literature at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and spent a year teaching in France. Ultimately, the sciences and medicine became his passion and Dr. Valins took his determination and talents to the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine graduating with a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine. He then continued and completed his residency training in podiatric surgery at the Hospital of PCOM in Philadelphia.
Dr. Valins decided to move to the Tampa Bay area to practice podiatric medicine and surgery in order to escape the winters of the northeast. In addition to his long-term practices in Zephyrhills and Sun City Center, and in view of the explosive population growth in the surrounding areas, Dr. Valins added offices in Wesley Chapel, Riverview/Apollo Beach, and Valrico.
Dr. Valins is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management. He is the long-term treasurer of the Hillsborough County Podiatric Medical Association. He is Board Certified in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.
Dr. Valins's wife, Claudia, is the Practice Administrator of Total Foot and Ankle of Tampa Bay. They work together to provide premium patient care in a family atmosphere. Dr. Valins and Claudia have three adult children and three grandchildren. The children were all raised in Tampa but now live in Brooklyn!
